About Us

Animal Welfare Society Rajasthan (AWS Rajasthan) is a social organization dedicated to the welfare, protection, treatment, and awareness of animals, birds, and livestock owners.

The Animal Welfare society in Rajasthan is an organization of animal welfare activists. Registered with the Government of Rajasthan on April 20, 1996, under the Rajasthan Societies Registration Act, 1958 (Act No. 28), it works for the upliftment and welfare of wildlife, animals, livestock owners, and veterinary officers and employees.
The Animal Welfare society acts as a representative body at the state level for wildlife, animals, livestock owners, and veterinary officers/employees. This society provides first aid veterinary facilities to animals injured in road accidents, utilizing available resources in the area and also organizes veterinary camps in rural areas. The Animal Welfare society's animal welfare activists, cow protectors, and cow rescuers, with the help of the police, apprehend vehicles cruelly transporting wildlife, cows, and other animals, and monitor the cases filed against the guilty individuals under various sections of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, ensuring legal action is taken. The society also monitors cases filed under various sections of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, against those who exploit wild animals like monkeys, snakes, and mongooses for entertainment, and ensures legal action is taken. The organization conducts checking campaigns in rural areas to seize oxytocin injections used for milk extraction and initiates legal action against those responsible. It also organizes seminars in schools to educate children about animal love and welfare. Considering the welfare of animals, the Animal Welfare society provides green fodder to stray cows on the roads, encourages people to adopt them, and arranges shelter for animals injured in road accidents at nearby cow shelters. The Animal Welfare society also works to close down illegally operating meat shops and organizes seminars in rural areas to raise awareness among farmers about using organic fertilizers instead of poisonous chemicals during crop cultivation.
